The Proposal
You don’t have to spend a fortune on setting up the perfect proposal. You should know your partner well enough by now to know where her tastes lie. Some women prefer elaborate, public proposals, while others would cherish a private, romantic one. Just remember that she will want to tell everyone her proposal story, so make it special for her. Unless you are proposing in a situation where it is impossible, always, ALWAYS go down on one knee. Its traditional. Here are some creative ideas on ways to pop the all important question.
- Take her to the place that you had your first date, Spend time reminiscing a little on the times you’ve shared since then say something like, "We’ve had an amazing time together since we were first here, and I’d like to continue having wonderful times together with you. Would you marry me?"
- Buy her a box of chocolates and remove one chocolate replacing it with a ring. When she opens it get down on one knee to finish the proposal.
- Restaurants are a popular place to propose. Call them before and hand and make arrangements for the ring to be delivered to the table in place of her desert.
- Organise a personal treasure hunt, laying clues for her to follow until the last clue leads her to where you’ll be waiting, already on one knee with the ring.
- Depending on the season you could write your proposal in the sand at the beach, in the snow or in the frost covering the windscreen of the car.
- Organise a party for a special event, such as her birthday. Invite all her family and friends and propose to her in front of all her loved ones.
- If your intended is due to fly back from a trip arrange to meet her at the airport and get friends to hold up a sign each when she arrives spelling out ‘Will you Marry me?’ Make sure you’re the one holding the sign saying ‘Me’
- Give your partner a gentle body massage saving the left hand as the last part to me massaged. As you massage the hand, gently slip the ring on her finger and be ready to pop the question.
No matter what you decide keep it fun, keep it personal and keep it romantic.![]()
