The business was founded in Cardiff in 1977 and the company quickly gained a reputation for quality jewellery as it grew.

We at Clive Ranger are established as an authoritative source of fine diamonds. We have spent over 30 years dealing with the worlds  Diamond markets and have established extensive lines of contact with many of the worlds diamond dealers & stone traders.

Our speciality is the design and manufacture of quality diamond rings and jewellery, which we sell from our shops direct to the public.

Because we specialise, we carry vast stocks, and buying direct from the worlds markets enables us to use our professional gemmological skills, knowledge and enterprise to select excellent quality,ethically produced diamonds, which we are proud to sell.

This buying policy coupled with the fact we design and manufacture diamond rings means we can cut out the middle mans costs

The Clive Ranger team includes highly skilled professional gemmologists, diamond graders  craftspeople & consultants with many years in the jewellery industry behind them, each with a deep love for jewellery and with firm ideas about how to show the stones off to their best advantage.

Our customers are encouraged to talk over their design ideas with our staff and our design department will turn the ideas into reality using the latest computer aided design technology.

We have our own specialised gem laboratory where active professionalism reigns. It is excellently equipped with state of the art gemmological instruments for diamond grading and gem identification this is run by Richard Slack co owner & Managing Director.FGA DGA.

Here the consignments of diamonds, all in their modest paper wrappings known as stone papers, are sorted by expert diamond graders and graded for colour and clarity. Colour and clarity grading is very skilled; the work is carried out under specific critical lighting conditions (North day light) with the buyers choosing only the very best and brightest stones and rejecting the rest.

After being sorted, weighed and graded, the diamonds are then skilfully set into some of the most beautiful settings available today.
